2014 Tri County Heart Walk

2014 Tri County Heart Walk

Imagine, that by 2020, we could reduce death and disability from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20%! The Nebrasky team joined the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk to promote physical activity and build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Team Nebrasky would like to thank all of our friends, family, vendors and customers for supporting our efforts. Many of you walked with us and many of you donated, helping us raise $1,708. The American Heart Association raised a total of $356,001that day!
The day itself was beautiful, a light breeze and endless sunshine. Lake Welch Beach at Harriman State Park is a lovely venue to showcase The American Heart Association. There were tents with sponsors and giveaways – t-shirts draw-string bags, hand wipes and more. Plenty of snacks were available to fuel up for the walk, there were bagels and granola bars galore, along with plenty of water and iced tea. There were bananas, apples and even Girl Scout cookies!
There was a moving opening ceremony with survivors and supporters, reminding everyone just how important the work of the American Heart Association is. Following the ceremony, the walk began. Teams were greeted and encouraged by a lively high school band. The entry to the non-competitive walk, was a scenic path along the beach.
Nebrasky Plumbing, Heating and Cooling is proud to have walked this year and the years passed for such a noble cause. We look forward to supporting the American Heart Association once again next year, in the Tri-County Heart Walk 2015.
