Here are some pre-season tips that can help you avoid a service call:
- Find your breaker panel and make sure the air conditioning breaker is flipped on. It is common for breakers to be shut off annually; this simple step could solve your problem.
- If your air conditioner has a seasonal cover, make sure you remove it. Most outdoor air conditioners have a seasonal cover to protect the unit from the environment. If the cover is not removed when the unit is in use, it can hinder or stop the unit from functioning.
- Clear all debris from around or on top of your unit. At least a few feet of clear space should be present on all sides of the air conditioner. Ensure that the fan on top of the unit is clear and that nothing has fallen into the space.
