Collecting Food for Local Food Bank
Nebrasky technicians will collect food items on service calls
Feb 23, 2009, Monroe, NY Nebrasky Plumbing, Heating Cooling technicians have begun collecting food for the local food banks from Nebrasky customers when they make a service call.
“People are hungry 365 days a year,” stated Paul Nebrasky. “Now that the holidays are over we can’t forget to keep donating food to our friends and neighbors in the Hudson Valley. To make it easier for our customers to donate, our techs will now pick up food items needed.”
This service will be available 365 days a year.
Below is a suggested list of desirable food &
personal hygiene items:
- canned tuna fish, chicken, turkey, ham, salmon, meat-based soups
- canned fruits, vegetables, and juices
- evaporated or powdered milk
- assorted pastas, rice, dry beans, and cereals
- Personal hygiene items - soap, toothpaste, shampoo, tooth brushes, toilet paper, paper towels, diapers, facial tissue
The Food Bank is unable to distribute baby food or baby formula collected through food drives. Dry packaging and cans are preferred. Glass and perishable foods are discouraged.
